Hi! My name is Natasha Chernavska, I created Surfing Shells™ because I live in sunny Florida and more than anything in the world I love ocean and beach – so much so that I want to share my love with everyone by designing cool prints for resort and beach summer clothes.
Here’s my story.
Fashion design was always my biggest passion! Ever since I was 6 or 7, I have been creating wardrobes for a crowd of paper dolls that I carved out from magazines or drew myself. I made cool outfits for them considering their age, type and character. I was looking around and studying outfits I saw everywhere – on the streets, on TV and in movies. I remember having lots of fun doing it till I was about a teenager.
I also had a few real dolls. I used to sew clothing for them. My mom helped me. She was a wonderful seamstress and showed me the basics. I continued learning in labor training class in middle school. I loved to sew and make clothing for myself and my friends.
I definitely love making clothes, but even more so, I like to design cool prints. Clothing doesn’t have to be complex. But I can never find prints pretty enough that would represent my passion to the ocean and beach. I think that life can be brighter and more fun with beautiful beach and ocean inspired clothes.
